Under the slogan 'We are the voice, not the mask', Cor del Segrià, the group of choirs in the Catalan region, wanted to cry for help yesterday after so many months of confinement because of a pandemic that seems has changed everything. Yes, singers and musicians keep wearing masks in their concerts. And probably for this reason, in their performance yesterday Sunday at the Seu Vella in Lleida, organized by the Segrià County Council, they shouted more than ever. Not only they shouted to be heard, but also because they were excited to see audience before them again. They showed that the need to sing, as well as to dance, to hug, to kiss, to laugh and to cry, is fruit of a human expression that should never disappear, no matter how many more pandemics are coming to us. And on top of this, the majesty and beauty of the central nave of the Seu Vella wrote a new episode in its long history. Who knows? If their walls could speak, they might say that yesterday’s concert was one of the most emotional they have witnessed.
